Irritability: Being irritable is not automatically a disorder. This state may arise episodically with poor sleep, fatigue, hangover, being hungry, etc. However if persistent, it could indicate certain disorders and benefit from evaluation to see if something more serious is going on. Depression, bipolar d/o, anxiety, substance abuse, pms, certain character disorders, and some psychoses are all possible.

A symptom- : When things bother you easily on a regular basis that is a symptom of some kind of emotional difficulty. It may or may not be officially considered to be a disorder. The important thing is that you are uncomfortable and wish to not feel that way. The next step is to talk it over with a psychiatrist or other mental health professional to better understand the problem and how to deal with it.
