Antihistamines: The best treatment for hayfever involving itching, sneezing, and congestion includes a steroid or antihistamine nasal spray or a combination of the above. A good over the counter medicine to start with is zyrtec = Cetirizine 10 mg at night or Allegra = fexofenadine 180 mg in the morning. Zyrtec is a little stronger than Allegra but makes some people tired. Recommend follow up with allergist.
