Ovulation needed : Periods just let you know that you are ovulating and that you have a normal endometrial lining. If you have that (like women who get pregnant while breast-feeding without a period), periods are not necessary. I see you are 41, if you are in early menopause, you could use donated ovum and medicines to imitate the normal hormonal milieu of spontaneous conception.
