NOS: Not otherwise specified (nos) is a category for a number of disorders in the dsm-iv-tr that do not meet criteria for another specific disorder. For example, depressive disorder nos does not meet criteria for major depressive disorder or dysthymia. Nos disorders are clinically significant and need treatment, often similar types of treatment as similar disorders.
