What can we do for our 23 month old son, who has a throat infection?

Symptomatic Treatmen: Encourage fluids and add tylenol/motrin to help control discomfort. Cool fluids and popsicles can comfort. Strep infections are less common than viral (esp in this age) and rheumatic fever uncommon <2yo, but would require antibiotic therapy if present. If chld is not drinking well, monitor closely for signs of dehydration.
