What are a midwives responsibilities?

Ask the midwife: Midwives are supposed to be certified and make sure if u use a midwife that the midwife has a close working relationship with an OB doc so there is backup, midwife is not supposed to take care of complications only do a normal spontaneous vaginal delivery if you need a csection the OB doc must do that ( some midwives can scrub to assist) and do not do a home delivery since no one can predict.
