FASD: Fasd, which includes fetal alcohol syndrome, describes the continuum of permanent birth defects that result from consumption of alcohol by mother when pregnant with baby (prenatal alcohol exposure). The effects can be physical, behavioral, & cognitive. There is no known safe amount of alcohol or safe time to drink alcohol during pregnancy.
