Generally, the higher the number in nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), or astigmatism, the worse the acuity will be. However, your pupil size, cataract, retinal problems can also affect your vision.

Visual acuity: Visual acuity is a measure of how well the eye sees without and with the best correction possible. Measuring the power of the contact lens yields the type of prescription that you require but does not tell anything about your visual acuity.

No: There is not a direct correlation between the refractive numbers on an eyeglass prescription or the numbers on a contact lens prescription. You need a standardized chart and lane to get the actual acuity level.
