Trained Night Criers: 9 months old is a common age for "trained night crying". These is seen in children who have developed habit of waking through night to feed. Try aioding night time bottles and make interactions at night as brief and boring as possible. Go into room, briefly comfort child and exit. Plan on couple of restless nights but most children adjust faster than parents expect.

Many changes: Sleep disturbances in infants can be due to multiple causes - from an illness to teething to the prelude of a developmental leap. If your child is eating, drinking, peeing and pooping normally and does not have a fever or other signs of illness then continue to practice good sleep hygiene (i.e. Not staying up with your child all night) and watch to see if a new developmental trick emerges soon.
