Will vary.: The treatment of epididymitis depends on the cause. In younger men, it is usually due to gonorrhea or chlamydia, which are sexually transmitted infections. Treatment depends on the antibiotic, and can last up to 10 days. The symptoms, however, may persist for weeks despite adequate treatment. I would not resume sex until you and your partner are evaluated & treated.
