Yes: Cytotec (misoprostol) is used to induce labor. It is safe to take but only under the supervision of a healthcare provider and only in a hospital setting.

No: Absolutely not. It causes uterine contractions. It's used as part of induction for medical abortions and could lead to undesired pregnancy loss.

No: Cytotec (misoprostol) is a medication approved for prevention of stomach ulcers, but it is also a potent stimulator of uterine activity leading to it's use as a labor induction agent. In early pregnancy, it is associated with miscarriage and should not be taken during pregnancy.

Yes: Cytotec (misoprostol) is an abortifacient when used in the first trimester and second, and would only be used for termination or delivery of a dead or nonviable fetus. In the third trimester, and in much smaller doses, Cytotec (misoprostol) is used for ripening of the cervix prior to induction of labor. It is associated with more frequent abnormal heart rate tracings, but is generally not dangerous if used judiciously.
