For Ob- yes: The "wheel" as it is known, is very helpful for your doctor. For most patients, it is a source of confusion.

Do diapers have an expiration date?

Dr. Gregg Alexander
Pediatrics 33 years experience
Yes: But, it doesn't mean the product expires. Pampers says, "it doesn't mean the product expires...Paper products do not have a specific shelf life....We recommend our diapers be kept in a shaded, dry storage area where the temperature is 85 degrees or less. Extreme heat or humidity could effect their performance." they may change color, the glue get less sticky, gel may clump less as they get old.

How long do I need to wait to conceive after a miscarriage?

Dr. David Fein
Specializes in Preventive Medicine
Three months: Most physicians will recommend at least three months, for multiple reasons. Whether a spontaneous miscarriage or having had a d&c, one desire is to have the cervix regain it's strength of closure for future pregnancies. Other beliefs are that the uterus has prepared the lining for a healthy pregnancy after a number of menstrual periods. The best answer is about 3 months.
A 27-year-old member asked:

Do doctors use the size of the baby to estimate the due date?

Dr. R. Wayne Inzer

Yes: Early in preg. Later, in the last trimester this is much less accurate. Once early dates are determined, they are not usually changed. Size later in preg can reflect genetics, nutrition, mothers health as well as baby's well being.
A 21-year-old member asked:

What is the difference between use by and best before dates and why avoid foods that are out of date?

Dr. Charles Cattano
Gastroenterology 39 years experience
Reading food labels: "best before" typically refers to the preservation of optimal taste and texture of the food, while "use by" has more to do with its expiration. Expired foods run the risk of spoilage and bacterial contamination that make you sick when consumed.
