Yes: Yes you can get herpes, chlamydia, gon , many stds from oral sex, the way to prevent that is to make sure your partner does not have anything by asking him or her, and if you are worried make them go to the doc to get cultures, blood work to r/o stds, your own fault if you do not do that first before having oral sex, or if they won't then tell them no oral sex.
