Sure.: Screening for an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism) is easily done. There are many reasons why you may not be sensitive to cold which aren't necessarily abnormal.

It depends: If you're referring to elevated thyroid hormone levels, you may be hyperthyroid (over active). If your TSH is elevated you may have the opposite problem, hypothyroidism (under active).

Yes.: Thyroid hormone does indeed set your metabolism. But taking extra is not a good way to make you "faster or better than normal." just ask anyone who has ever been hyperthyroid. Not pleasant.
