Depression: Sometimes there's no immediately apparent "cause" for depression, but family history, drug/alcohol use, personal loss, trauma such as rape or bullying, etc, certain medications, and hormonal changes can all play a part. Symptoms include sad mood, loss of interest & enjoyment in activities lasting longer than 2 weeks, & disturbances in sleep, energy, and appetite. Can have suicidal thinking also.
