Mild discomfort: With modern eye muscle surgery techniques, the eye discomfort is minimal - you should be feeling better in about 2 weeks.

Not usually: The procedure to straighten the eyes is usually performed under sedation or general anesthesia and is not uncomfortable. For the first few days after the procedure, there may be mild discomfort which can be treated with tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen.
