Is it beneficial to co-sleep with your baby?

No: Hundreds of babies die yearly when mothers smother the child during co-sleeping or they strangle in the bedding. The aap & other health agencies frown on this as a potential life threatening habit. Same room -yes/same bed -no.

Depends: It is dangerous to co-sleep with infants. They do not have the strength to push away if you accidentally roll on them plus the bedding/pillows poise suffocation risks. Many new parents are sleep deprived and when they do fall asleep it's often very deep and they may not realize they are on their baby. Cuddle outside of bed - place bassinet right next to bed for easy access during night feedings.
