ImageBlood in Vessel: Angio = blood, gram = picture; thus angiograms are pictures which show a 2d image, still or motion, of dye added into the blood, so that the dye/blood column shows on x-ray. Without the dye, the blood looks same on x-ray as surrounding tissues. They are done for symptoms/complications of (suspected) advanced arterial disease. (keep in mind: artery ds is in artery walls & does not show in images).

X-ray with dye: It is a diagnostic procedure that provides x-ray images of your heart and its blood vessels. This test is very important because it helps the cardiologist plan the approach to treating the blockage.
