None specific by age: Nothing really unique to the elderly, but high blood pressure and diabetes are common causes fo kidney disease. Older males may have symptoms of prostatism and older females may have more stress incontinence or vaginal or prolapse. Frequent urinary tract infections need futher evaluation as well.

Needs lab: Kidney failure is difficult to diagnose without laboratory test. The main clinical symptoms are loss of appetite, nausea, swelling, and sometimes itching. If you suspect that you have kidney disease, i suggest you see your physician when possible.
