A member asked:

Is it easier for asthmatic persons to put on weight than normal people?

Dr. Jay Park answered

Yes for some: Either due to lack of exercise or to the systemic effect of steroid. Some asthmatics are afraid to do an exercise because of possible asthma flare-up. Poorly controlled, severe asthmatics, are often given oral or injectable steroid to control acute exacerbation of asthma.
