A member asked:

Does tequila have something in it that affects people differently than other alcohols?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Alcohol is alcohol..: ... But different kinds of drinks can feel different due to other factors. One issue is the rate at which the alcohol level rises. Thus, distilled spirits like tequila, with highly concentrated alcohol, may give a different subjective experience than less concentrated alcohol in wine or beer. Also, "cogeners" may be a factor. See: http://en.Wikipedia.Org/wiki/congener#in_alcoholic_beverages.
