Hydroquinone: Hydroquinone is a bleaching agent. It should not really have an effect on scars, per se. Excessively high concentrations of hydroquinone can cause a side effect that may appear as darkening. So be careful where you get it. If the scar is hyperpigmented then it may help fade this problem.

HQ is skin bleach: Hydroqyinone (hq) is a skin bleaching agent that blocks the formation of melanin. It will not turn you "white" ? It may irritate the skin causing inflammation and hyperpigmentation in susceptible individuals and is therefore commonly combined with a steroid and occasionally with other agents such as retinoids to disperse existing melanin and kojic acid which is another skin lightener.
