Cognitive therapy: If u don't want medication u can talk with u pcp to help u find. A good therapist that can can provide u cognitive behavioral therapy. However, although all medications has side effect, curtently we have safer medication.

Good for you!: Risperdal and Abilify (aripiprazole) are approved for children and adults with autistic spectrum disorders and irritability, you may do well with a combination of individual cognitive-behavioral therapy and social skills group therapy. There are "melt-tabs" forms of Risperdal and Abilify (aripiprazole) that work very quickly if you really get overwhelmed. Read all the tony attwood books and the latest books from dr. Grandin.
