My girlfriend recently went to the clinic and they said she has genital warts can they be cured or are they here for good?

Problem: It can be treated but not cured unless the person's immune system gets rid of the warts. The wart virus can be present in the skin without a visible wart.

Genital Warts: If your warts aren't causing discomfort, you may not need treatment. But if your symptoms include itching, burning and pain or if visible warts are causing emotional distress, your doctor can help you clear an outbreak with medications or surgery. However, the lesions are likely to recur after treatment.
