14 days before: An easy way to remember ovulation is that it occurs 14 days before your next cycle. If you know how many days between periods then you can calculate an approximate ovulation date.

Before midcycle: Usually in a 28 day cycle ovulation occurs around day 13, 14, or 15. Sometimes ovulation can occur as early as day 10 to 11. Also remember that sperm with optimal cervical mucus can live up to 72 hours.
