A member asked:

Low parathyroid level can this cause hair loss?

Haven't heard of it: Haven't heard of hypoparathyroidism causing hair loss, but sometimes autoimmune disease is the cause of low parathyroid, and some autoimmune diseases can cause hair loss. A primary care doctor and an endocrinologist can investigate to see if a person's hair loss and hormonal issues are related. Of course, the two problems can also be in the same patient just by coincidence.

Unclear: Sometimes patients experience transient hair loss following surgery but it recovers and isn't related to PTH as far as i know.
