Avoid fragrances: Gnats might be attracted to traces of fragrances on your body from personal care products such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, and antiperspirant. Even laundry products could leave fragrance on your clothes. Use fragrance-free laundry and personal care products, and use bug repellant when you know you'll be outside.

Dr. Joseph Eastern

It will heal.: My father used to say, "bite it back!" which wasn't particularly helpful. If it's only one bite, leave it alone, it will heal. If it gets red and sore, it might be getting infected; see your doctor.

BUG BITES: How do you know they are bug bites? If they itch over-the-counter Hydrocortisone might work. If both of you have it, and if the itching is severe, it might be a condition called scabies. See a dermatologist as soon as possible.

In extreme cases, they transmit serious diseases. Application of insect repellents are an effective way to prevent bites. Available for your preference are "chemical-deet" vs non chemical "natural" products-lemon eucalyptus.
