Depends on cause...: Dysautonomia is a general term to describe dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system - and it may have many causes ranging from infection (lyme, syphilis) to brain trauma to medications. Sometimes, when you remove the cause of the dysautonomia, the symptoms stop. The trick is finding out what's causing it in the first place.
