No: The only birth control method shown to cause weight gain is depot provera (medroxyprogesterone). Birth control pills do not cause weight gain. They can cause mood changes, but these typically will lesson or go away completely after a few months. A birth control method with no hormonal side effects would be the copper iud or condoms.
