Depends: Knee and thigh pain can actually come from an issue within the hip. Do you have any hip pain? The only way to tell is to get an exam and evaluate both the knee and hip joints. I cannot give you a direct answer to what is causing your pain without more information and a physical exam. See your doctor to get to a more accurate diagnosis.
