Bleeding + pregnant: 2 ways to look at this: 1/ chances of getting pregnant while bleeding from normal menstrual period are much lower than closer to ovulation. 2/ if already pregnant, there can be bleeding. It is not unusual to have implantation bleeding, which should be lighter than a period. Bleeding that is heavier or later should be reported to ob.

No: By definition the menstrual period only occurs in the absence of a pregnancy. Many women will have implantation bleeding at about the time their period is due - the may think they have started their period, but that would not be the case.
