That's a long time: In the animal kingdom (which includes us), opportunities for mating and reproducing may be fleeting. As they evolved over the millenia, mammals that took too long to mate probably didn't do as well (had fewer pregnancies), so eventually those who mated quickly were best suited to propagating the species. However, staying relaxed, doubling condoms, and taking breaks during sex, may be helpful.
