Is it safe for me to eat large amounts of chocolate during pregnancy?

Yes and no: Chocolate is safe and a pregnancy staple according to many patients. It does have caffeine and calories, both of which are detrimental in large quantities. How much is too much? There is no data on this. Terence, a roman comic dramatist is known for the quotation, "moderation in all things". This too for pregnancy applies.

Not really. : Of course some dark chocolate is a good idea. A large amount of sugar is not ideal. Perhaps you could try some sugar-free chocolate. A large amount of spinach would be better. Enjoy.
