Both to help more: Nasal steroid such as Flonase is the front line treatment for allergic rhinitis, but at time people do need more than a spray--adding an antihistamine such as alavert, zyrtec, benadryl, (diphenhydramine) Allegra is quite common--they do not interact and in fact both work to help your allergies. Of course, use the smallest effective dose when needed. Good luck.

A female asked:
Can you take Alavert with Flonase and benadryl?

You should not: Alavert is a non-sedating antihistamine (loratadine), which is the same active ingredient as Claritin. Benadryl is also a antihistamine, but causes more sedation than loratadine. The two should not be taken together as they are the same class of medication with similar mechanisms of action. Flonase is a nasal steroid which can be used with either Alavert or Benadryl
