A member asked:

Can your brain cause your cells to attack yourself in the case of an autoimmune disease?

No: Autoimmunity is an attack by the immune cells, usually types of white blood cells: t cells and b cells, against parts of the body itself. The cause is usually unknown but there sometimes a genetic predisposition. The brain does not cause the attack.
