Not known. : This is not listed as a side effect. To be prudent you should be checked by a urologist or pcp. Make sure that this is not blood in the urine (hematuria), which is a serious condition and should be evaluated. Ribena urinary system side effects: when used in high doses - hyperoxaluria and the formation of kidney stones of calcium oxalate.

Can medicines cause urine to be red?

Yes: Rifampin, an antibiotic often used to treat tuberculosis, can turn urine red. So can pyridium, (phenazopyridine) a drug that numbs urinary tract discomfort, and laxatives containing senna. Certain foods, like blackberries, beets, and rhubarb can do it; chronic lead & mercury poisoning too. Last but not least is blood turning urine red -- if not on these meds or eating these foods, please see your doctor asap.
