Lower rib pain: I am not entirely sure of the cause of your rib pain. I can speculate that you may have a lower rib pain syndrome, which is characterized by pain in the lower chest or upper abdomen, a tender spot on the rib margin, and reproduction of the pain by pressing on the spot. You may also have some sort of impingement on the intercostal nerves, which run along the lower borders of the ribs.

Neuropathy: It can be a prelude to shingles or reflect nerve impingement along that dermatome. If you get a rash seak medical help.
