Repeat the test: Pregnancy tests turn positive about a week after conception. If the test is repeatedly negative, pregnancy is ruled out. Prolonged symptoms can be the result of an unusual period but should evaluated if prolonged.

Unlikely: The chemicals that turn a urine pregnancy test positive are the ones that trigger true pregnancy symptoms. If your test is negative it is likely your symptoms are not from pregnancy but some other issue. Since there is so much overlap in the discomforts related to pregnancy & other issues this is not uncommon, nor is the confusion. A 1st morning urine is more concentrated & positive if pregnant.
