PCOS/HCAS?: You may be suffering from polycystic ovary syndrome (stein-leventhal, or hyperandrogenemia chronic anovulation syndrome as a more appropriate descriptive term of the physiopathology), especially if you are overweight. Try metformin and see a reproductive endocrinologist/infertility specialist if you are unable to conceive despite regular (>3/week) vaginal intercourse for a year. Take folic acid!

See a REI specialist: Agree with dr z. Birth control pills 'wear off' within weeks not months. With only 2 periods a year you're not ovulating (releasing an egg) every month. See a fertility specialist (reproductive endocrinologist) to find out why: could be pcos, thyroid or prolactin hormone issues, low egg supply, or low hormone levels due to stress, exercise, eating disorders. Treatment will help you conceive faster.
