No, as long as: You manage your risk factors and adapt your expectations. Work closely with your doctor. This is a wake-up call to radically improve your lifestyle behaviors. If you have not already do so, you may want to look at the work of dean ornish in using lifestyle changes to reverse heart disease. (google his name). It may not suit you but inform your cardiologist if you decide to adopt his approach.

No.: It just means looking after yourself more and visiting a doctor more often. Depending on any blockages, you may need surgery to help get oxygen to the heart. If you smoke, you absolutely must stop. Staying active, exercising, maintaining a healthy weight, and eating right are all important.
