OTC Lamisil (terbinafine) or tinac: There are couple of topical products available and i find that Lamisil works quite well for simple ringworm on body, not scalp/bearded areas. Keep area clean, dry and apply the cream 2-3x/day should get rid of it in about 10-14 days. Tinactin (tolnaftate) does same job too. If not better, consult doc for possible alternate diagnosis. Good luck.

Antifungal cream: Tinea corporis, ringworm is not a worm at all, it is a fungal infection. The name comes from its red, ringed appearance. It is highly contagious. Antifungal creams such as miconazole, clotrimazole, terbinafine hydrochloride are used topically. Some are available over-the-counter. Apply 2x/day until a week after the rash is gone. Treat everyone and examine pets.

Topical antifungals: Start with Lamisil (terbinafine) or lotrimin otc creams sold at most grocery stores and any pharmacy. Use them twice a day for at least 3 weeks. Seek medical help if this does not cure your rash.

Ringworm is a fungus: It can be treated with topical antifungal medication. There are actually no worms causing ringworm.
