Celexa (citalopram): Side effect to ssri antidepressant such as Celexa can warrant switch to an antidepressant belonging to another group such as wellbutrin, remeron, cymbalta, (duloxetine) trazodone. Discuss with your doctor.

Alternatives: You may want to ask your doctor about other options, such as escitalopram, or another drug that is in a different class altogether to treat depression and/or anxiety. Some of these might include what is known as a tricyclic antidepressant, or an snri. Without knowing your specific medical history, i hesitate to get too specific but hopefully this opens a dialogue with your doctor. Best of luck!

See your Doctor: Citalopram and other drugs in its class may cause flushing and combining it with other medications may increase the problem. Talk with your pharmacist to help resolve any drug-drug interactions. Its also important to see your physician for evaluation to rule out other causes of this problem, and then modification of your treatment accordingly.
