Overall IQ > 70: Kids with hfa have low language abilities & learn best from what they see & touch. Non-verbal iq >90. May have increased random, purposeless, motor activity & stereotypies (e.g., spinning, pacing), look at objects from odd angles, over- or under-react to smell, taste, touch, visual or auditory stimuli. May work dvd players/ computers above age level. Often have good response to behavior therapy.
