This is not true: The modern low dose birth control pill (ortho novum is one brand amont many) has no measureable direct effect on weight, as demonstrated by many studies. Indirect effects like a slightly enhanced appetite and depression could be an issue, but there are a great number of options and alternatives to choose from. There is no one best choice.
