A member asked:

Can esophageal cancer migrate to the brain?

8 doctors weighed in across 2 answers

Yes: The risk for any cancer, including esophageal is metastasis, or spread of the cancer to distant organs. Esophageal cancer can metastasize to the brain, lungs, bone, liver, adrenal glands and lymph nodes that are away from the esophagus. Pet/ct, chest ct, and brain MRI are all used to help stage the cancer, and determine distant spread.
