Can a 16 y.o. get a yeast infection?

Any reason: Yes. Things that may encourage an excess growth of vaginal yeast include using antibiotics, having high estrogen levels (such as during pregnancy, high-dose birth control pill use, & the follicular phase of the menstrual cycle), having diabetes, having an impaired immune system, using corticosteroids, such as prednisone, & being overweight. Avoid douching, see your dr.

Yes: Women at any age (including newborn) are more prone to yeast infections. The stool contains the yeast and cross contamination due to the proximity to the genitals is a contributing factor. Toileting practices matter (wipe FTB). Prior antibiotic use increases yeast content in the poop. Diabetics are at higher risk (sugar feeds the yeast).
