Possibly: By definition, every cancer has the potential to return, the probability of which is dependent upon the type and stage of that particular cancer. Perhaps the greatest challenge for any breast cancer survivor is to learn to live with this risk and not allow it to control your life.

Yes: The long term effects are related to the types of treatments that you may have undergone. Surgery may have the risks of numbness, limb swelling, scarring. Radiation carries the risk (although much smaller now) of causing a new cancer. And some chemotherapies have the risk of causing different types of blood cancers.
