A member asked:

How can a paralysed person with weak arms get into a wheelchair?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below: If the person is quadriplegic, , meaning weakness or paralysis of all 4 extremities, they would need someone else to help them with the transfer into the wheelchair. This could be done manually by an aide if the person was not too heavy or could also be done with a device called a hoyer lift which is a mechanical device that assists transfers.
