Quad strengthening: Most patients with meniscus tears also have some degree of quad inhibition or quad weakness. It often causes more pain and difficulty in the inner part of the knee than the meniscus tear itself. You can improve the situation by strengthening the quad muscles. Exercises like straight leg raises, stationary bicycle, and slow stair-walking will not harm the meniscus and can relieve symptoms.
