Unhappy hearts: Caused by bad cholesterol and inflammation. Both can clog the pipes to your heart. How to keep your heart (and elsewhere) happy: eat well (whole grains, fruits and veggies). Get moving 30-60 minutes every day. Don't smoke. Make friends. Smile.

Cholesterol buildup: In coronary artery disease, cholesterol builds up in the walls of the arteries. As the walls thicken, the inside (the lumen) becomes narrowed creating an obstacle for the blood trying to get to the heart. The process begins in the teenage years but only becomes symptomatic later in life.
